Name Managing

Name owners can update their address or transfer ownership sending on-chain transaction.

Update Address​

To change the ZCash address that a name resolves to, the UPDATE command is used and its format as the following:

zNS:1:UPD:{name}:{new_zcash_address}:{ed25519_pubkey}:{nonce}:{signature}

Transfer Ownership​

To transfer aname to a new Ed25519 public key CHANGE command is used:

zNS:1:CHG:{name}:{new_owner_ed25519_pubkey}:{nonce}:{signature}

After transfer, the new owner controls the name.

  • UPDATE and CHANGE are not processing by registrar while a name is listed for sale on the Marketplace. Delist first, then update.
  • The update price depends on the premium status (characters length) of the name.
